The most important aspect of complying with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 is to have a management plan.
How do you manage such a large risk?
The starting point to this is knowledge. When you have an asbestos register for your property it is the first part of the jigsaw. But what about the information within the register, is it correct? Who manages it?
It is a sad state for the industry to admit but the standard of some surveys are well below the standard that should be accepted.
We can offer you the peace of mind to undertake a full review of your register and the information contained within to ensure that it adequately meets your needs.
ACL has a proven track record in adapting its services and designing bespoke solutions. Experienced Consultants will carry out a thorough appraisal of your needs which is then balanced against operational and budgetary constraints. From this a step by step “road map” to compliance is devised to ensure all regulatory requirements are considered.
Do I have to monitor or review the Plan?
The Plan has to be reviewed annually and when any significant changes have taken place. There is also a requirement to re-inspect any identified ACM’s to ensure damage or deterioration has not occurred. Your asbestos register must be updated following any asbestos removal or remediation. If the register does not have the most up to date information, you could end up spending more time and money managing an asbestos risk that does not exist.
